Support Systems: Ensure that there is a robust support system in place. Our staff team have regular meetings and training to ensure they can give all the emotional and psychological support the children need, providing guidance and reassurance during their stay.
Feedback Mechanisms: Implement feedback mechanisms where young people can express their feelings about the transition process and any adjustments needed. This can help in making continuous improvements on our end, to make sure they're comfortable as possible when they arrive with us.
Trial Runs: Where possible, organise trial runs or visits to new placements before the actual move. This can help reduce anxiety by familiarizing young people with their new environment.
Positive Reinforcement: Celebrate milestones and achievements during their stay with us. Positive reinforcement can boost confidence and motivation.
Clear Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication throughout the transitional period, and during their time with us. Ensuring that the children understand each step of the process and being clear they can come to us for any support or clarity.
